Description
The gates, gate piers, boundary wall, and railings in front of Iford Manor date from the late 18th century and 19th century. The boundary wall is made of ashlar and coursed, squared rubble, standing about 4 feet high, topped with cast iron railings. At the south-east end, there is a square pier featuring a heavily moulded cornice and a ball finial. The north-west end includes gates and gate piers, with low panelled outer piers that have a cornice and urns. The railings rise to tall panelled inner piers adorned with wreaths and heraldic lions, complemented by decorative wrought iron gates.
