Description
Abbotsbury Mill is a former mill that has been converted into a house. It dates from the mid-17th century and features 20th-century changes to its windows and interior. The building has rubble-stone walls with stone quoins and a slate roof, which includes stone gable copings, scroll-kneelers, and moulded apex-blocks. It stands two storeys high with attics and has two windows that are three-light wooden casements from the 20th century. There is a round-headed window on the left side at ground level. To the right, stone steps lead up to a 20th-century plank door that has a keyed stone lintel above it. Inside, the wooden crown wheel remains, but the rest of the machinery has been removed. The roof structure has been significantly strengthened with halved collars, double-pegged joints, and butted purlins.
