Description
25 Monmouth Street is a small house that has been converted into a shop, likely built in the mid-19th century. It features a limestone ashlar exterior and has two storeys with two windows, which contain six-over-six sash windows set in plain reveals. The ground floor showcases a full-width late 19th-century display front divided into two wide bays, complete with pilasters and a parapet with dies that are brought forward. There is a door to the left, which is topped by a deep transom light. Above, a small cornice leads to a high blocking course with a parapet that sweeps up at the ends and is raised over a small central curved pediment. The property is set back slightly from the adjacent buildings. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
