Description
No. 10 Abbey View is a house located at the upper end of the terrace, built around 1864. It features ashlar stonework and a slate roof. The building has a wide span hipped roof and a symmetrical front, with a return to Abbey View Gardens at an acute angle.
The house is two storeys high with an attic and has three windows, which are plain sash windows set in raised plaster surrounds with sill brackets. There is a central arched doorway that contains a 20th-century flush door and a plain fanlight above it. The exterior also includes plain quoin pilasters and deep flat eaves. The return front has an inserted dormer above a plain sash window and a doorway, along with an eaves stack.
The interior has not been inspected. Historically, this house serves as a 'stop' to the upper end of Abbey View Terrace and first appears in the Bath Directory in 1866-1867.
