Description
Beaufort Cottage is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a hipped slate roof with two moulded ridge stacks on either side of the entrance. The building has a double depth plan and stands two storeys tall with a symmetrical three-window front. It includes a projecting eaves band, four-over-eight pane sash windows on the first floor, and eight-over-eight pane sashes on the ground floor. The entrance is a six-panel door set beneath a fine cast iron trellis porch that has a swept pavilion canopy. The interior has not been inspected. The front garden is approximately 7 meters square and is enclosed by an ashlar wall about 1 meter high, which flanks tall gatepiers featuring large rolled arrises on the inside front corners, chamfered caps, and the name "BEAUFORT COTTAGE" carved into them. There is also a good wrought iron gate.
