Description
Woodbank House is a detached house built in the early 19th century. It features an ashlar facade, with the rest of the structure made from coursed squared and dressed limestone. The roof is not visible but is presumed to be covered with stone slate. The house has a rectangular main body with a central porch and stables located at the right gable end.
The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical facade with three windows. The ground floor has large 12-pane sash windows with slatted shutters. The central portico is supported by square paired Doric columns and features a heavy entablature. There is a band between the ground and first floor, and above the porch, there is a French casement window with Gothic glazing bars, flanked by pilasters. Small 12-pane sashes are located on either side of this window. Each corner of the house has full-height Doric pilasters, and there is a band above the first-floor windows. The facade is topped with a parapet that has a moulded cornice.
To the right of the main house, there is a two-storey lean-to stable block, which has access from the right side. At the rear, there is a projecting enclosed first-floor water tank supported by fluted columns. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
