Description
Beaufort Lodge is a house located on the north side of London Road, dating from the early 19th century with some alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a slate roof with moulded stacks. The building stands three storeys high and has an irregular five-window front. There are four windows on the second and ground floors, and it is topped with a coped parapet and a coved cornice. The first floor sill band has been cut away in places where the sills have been lowered, and the windows are six-over-six pane sash windows. To the right of the centre, there is a projecting simple stone porch with a moulded cornice and a four-panel door that has a three-pane integral overlight above it. Notably, above the first floor, there is a black iron clock face featuring gold Roman numerals but no hands. To the right, there is a late 19th-century canted bay window on the first floor, which has panelled pilasters, a cornice, and two-over-two pane sashes with horizontal glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected.
