Description
The gazebo, located on the boundary wall 30 metres east of The Court in High Littleton, dates from around 1700. It is constructed from irregular coursed thin bedded sandstone, featuring remnants of original ochre-coloured render and freestone dressings, topped with a 20th-century slate roof. The structure is square in shape and has wide bolection surround openings on three sides, along with a bolection architrave framing the doorway on the west face, which is currently void. Access to the doorway is provided by three semi-circular late 19th-century stone steps. The gazebo also has a coved stone cornice and a pyramid roof with a weather vane at the apex, as well as a corner stone stack with a terracotta pot. Inside, there is a fireplace in the northeast corner, which features a bolection moulded depressed arched surround.
