6/160 Gazebo approx. 60m 9.8.66 south-east of No 60 (formerly listed as Gazebo at Monk Barn

GV II

Gazebo. Late C17 or early C18. Hammer-dressed stone, ashlar dressings, lacks roof. 2 storeys. Square on plan. Rusticated quoins, chamfered band. Doorway with interrupted jambs. Above is window with moulded sill, monolithic jambs with roll-moulded edges, ashlar apron. Remains of cyma-moulded cornice.

Interior: 2 vaulted ranges to ground-floor. 1st floor has flue for corner fire-place now gone. In a derelict condition presenting the appearance of a picturesque folly adjacent to Monk Barn with which it is probably contemporary. Has commanding views over the town.
