Description

The gazebo, located approximately 60 meters southeast of No. 60, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and currently lacks a roof. The structure is square in plan and has two storeys. It features rusticated quoins and a chamfered band. The doorway has interrupted jambs, and above it is a window with a moulded sill, monolithic jambs with roll-moulded edges, and an ashlar apron. The remains of a cyma-moulded cornice can also be seen.

Inside, there are two vaulted ranges on the ground floor. The first floor includes a flue for a corner fireplace that is now missing. The gazebo is in a derelict condition and presents the appearance of a picturesque folly, likely contemporary with Monk Barn. It offers commanding views over the town.
