Description
The gazebo located to the north of number 6 High Bondgate in Bishop Auckland is an early 18th-century structure. It is built with water-worn cobbles at the lower levels, brick for the upper floors, and has a rendered first floor on the east side. The roof is covered with synthetic slates and has a pyramidal shape. The gazebo features a square plan and stands two storeys high, with one window. The ground-floor walls are made of cobbles, while the upper floors are constructed from brick. There is an empty door on the south side leading towards the garden, as well as one empty window on each side of the first floor. Inside, fragments of plaster can be found on the walls above the dado level. The structure was derelict at the time of the survey in 1991.
