Description
This is a gazebo located approximately 17 meters south of The Moat House, dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of brick with some ashlar and features a pyramidal roof covered in fishscale tiles, reflecting a Georgian style. The gazebo has a square plan and is two stories high.
The ground floor has chamfered angles with ashlar stops and a top coved cornice. The entrance to the first floor on the north side includes ashlar steps with wooden handrails, a doorcase, and paired doors with three fielded panels. On the ground floor's west side, there is a pointed entrance with an ashlar fielded-panel keystone above a four-panel door. The windows are topped with rubbed brick segmental arches and have twelve-pane sashes with thick glazing bars, although the window on the south side features a top-hung casement. A wind vane is located at the top of the structure, though some details are partly obscured by ivy.
Inside, the gazebo includes fielded panelling, a corner fireplace with a cupboard above it, and a ceiling that features a wind vane in the shape of a rose with a pointer.
