Description
Overland is a detached villa located on the north side of Church Road in Combe Down. It was built in the mid-19th century and has some 20th-century additions. The villa is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a slate roof. Its design includes a compact block shape with a low-pitched hipped roof that has deep eaves supported by brackets, along with a 20th-century rear extension that has a flat roof and a parapet.
The exterior is two storeys high and has three windows, which are plain sashes with sills supported by consoles. A central porch made of ashlar has a cornice, a blocking course, and a parapet above a glazed door that includes a transom light. At each end of the building, there are ashlar stacks with rounded cappings above moulded coping. Although the interior has not been inspected, Overland is part of a series of villas along Church Road that offer panoramic views of the countryside to the south.
