Description

Brow Lodge is an early to mid-19th century detached house, originally built as a lodge for The Brow (listed separately). It is constructed of limestone ashlar with slate roofs. The building is a picturesque range of single storey plus attics, incorporating simple Gothic detailing. The windows are varied, generally featuring margin panes.

The front features two gabled dormers with paired casements. On the ground floor, a left-hand projection has paired sashes with a swept-down roof, followed by a single sash. A gabled porch with a plank door, set within a flat segmental head, is positioned next to paired sashes under a hood-mould. A small lancet window with margin panes is set under a broad gable. Each end of the building is gabled, with limestone coping and trefoil saddle stones. The west return has two lancets, and a blocked former arched doorway. The rear of the building includes further lancet windows and a gabled central wing.

The interior has not been inspected. It appears the building's orientation has been altered, as the previous listing referred to a principal entrance on the south side.
