Description
This is a four-storey terrace house, now a shop, dating from around 1770 (before 1776). It extends through to Monmouth Street. The house is constructed of limestone ashlar with a slate roof. The front elevation features three windows per floor, all with twelve-pane sashes set within splayed surrounds, although the mid-19th century shopfront has been altered. The shopfront has a glazed door, a deep transom light, and a side panelled door with a blocked-in transom light. There are two platbands, a cornice resting on an ovolo mould, a blocking course, and a parapet, which continues across to the adjacent property at No. 16. The frontages of this property and No. 16 have differing floor levels and straight joints. The rear, visible in Monmouth Street, is of rubble construction and has plain and twelve-pane sashes, along with an external eaves stack. A single-storey shop unit has been built forward to the street and is not considered of special interest. The interior has not been inspected.
