Description

This is a four-storey terrace house, originally built around 1770 (confirmed as before 1776 by Ordnance Survey records), with later 19th-century additions. It is located on the north side of Kingsmead Square, and extends through to Monmouth Street at the rear. The house is constructed of limestone ashlar with a pantile roof. It features a narrow frontage and a double roof. The front has two windows on each floor, all plain sash windows set in splayed reveals, with the right-hand window on the top floor being blind. A late 19th-century shopfront with pilasters and a glazed door is located on the right-hand side of the ground floor. Other external details include two platbands, a cornice, a small blocking course and a parapet, and a large shared stack on the left. The rear elevation has plain sash windows, with a splayed display window on the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
