Description
Hill House, formerly listed as The Cottage, is a house that was remodeled in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of rubble, partly rendered, and features a double Roman tiled roof with coped raised verges, an ashlar parapet, and a moulded cornice. The building has two storeys and attics with modern dormers, and it is three bays wide. The windows are glazing bar sash types set in plain architraves, with the central window on the first floor having a semi-circular head, keystone, imposts, and decorative glazing. The entrance features a panelled door in an architrave beneath a pediment supported by consoles, with a lintel that includes a keystone. In front, fine cast iron railings enclose the garden, complemented by ashlar piers on either side and a central decorative gate.
