Description

The building located in Library Place at the rear of numbers 20 and 22 Warwick Street, used as a storehouse by Messrs Colin Moore, dates from the early 19th century. It is two storeys high with an attic and features three windows. The exterior is made of painted bricks with small cornice modillions and has a mansarded roof. The south front is constructed of grey headers with brick dressings, and there are curved stuccoed bays on either side of the central window. A wooden porch with an iron balcony above leads to an eight-panel moulded door, and the glazing bars are intact. There is also a later 19th-century addition with a slate roof at the north-west end. The shops at the front, numbers 20 and 22, are not of interest. The building was originally known as Stanfords Cottage but is now referred to simply as a storehouse.
