Description
Nos. 10, 12, and Thieves Kitchen Public House on Warwick Street were likely built around 1835-1840 in the Greek Revival style. They feature fine fawn-coloured brickwork and have a main frontage facing Warwick Street, with five sash windows. The left three bays are four stories tall, while the right bays are two stories and slightly project. The building has modern shopfronts that extend around both return facades. There is a three-light window on the rounded right-hand corner facing Marine Place, which has a pediment above it on the first floor. The left-hand return facade to Bedford Row showcases anthemion decorated ironwork on three windows. All windows, except those in Marine Place and on the corner, have glazing bars and gauged heads, with the first-floor windows also featuring straight bracketed hoods. The ground floor likely retains its original cornice, and matching cornices are present above the top floors. Nos. 10, 12, and Thieves Kitchen Public House are part of a group with Bedford Hall on Bedford Row.
