Description

Ivy Cottage and St Mary’s Cottage are a pair of 18th-century cottages with a single roof span. They are located on the north side of Broadwater Street in Broadwater, and comprise numbers 23 and 25 respectively. The cottages are built of red brick with grey headers laid alternately. Ivy Cottage (number 23) has one window, while St Mary's Cottage (number 25) has four. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars, except for the upper window of Ivy Cottage and the lower left window of St Mary’s Cottage, which are fixed. A slate-covered hood protects the westernmost window and entrance door of St Mary’s Cottage. The cottages are part of a group forming with numbers 19 to 27 (odd) and the wall and gate piers to number 27, as well as number 2 Forest Road.
