Description

Probably dating from around 1800, 54-58 Church Road is a terrace of three cottages situated closely to buildings to the west. The construction is of coursed cobbles, accentuated by painted brick quoining at the corners and around the openings, and features a modillion eaves cornice. The roof is tiled, with chimneys located between the cottages. Each cottage has one sash window on each floor; the ground-floor windows have glazing bars. The cottages have doors on the right-hand side (Nos 54 and 56) and on the left-hand side (No 58). All the window and door openings are arched. These cottages, together with Nos 1, 2 and 3 Market House, form a notable group.
