Description

The dovecote located to the south of the Old Palace on South Street is a notable structure, attributed to origins before 1250 and mentioned in a document from 1313. The present building likely dates from the 18th century. It features an exterior made of cobbles with brick corners and an interior showcasing brick niche-work. The dovecote is square in shape and has a tiled roof that is hipped on all sides, rising into a short ridge with two gablets. There is a door on the south side and a renewed casement window on the west, both topped with cambered brick heads.
