Description

This is a group of three cottages located on High Street in West Tarring, at the junction with Parsonage Row. The cottages, numbered 2 and 4, likely date from the 17th or 18th century, and have undergone significant alterations over time. They were probably originally shops, with the right-hand cottage later becoming a Post Office.

The cottages have two storeys and a steep tiled roof with a small gable in the center and two tall chimneys at the south end. There are three windows in total: the upper central and right-hand windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The right-hand cottage is faced with painted brick and has projecting eaves. The other two cottages feature a coved jetty to the upper storey, which is tile-hung. The south-facing gable is tile-hung, with the remainder of the façade roughcast. There are two small casements above, with one modern window visible at the left-hand side.

Nos. 2 to 16 (even) and Nos. 20 to 32 (even) form a group.
