Description

Malthouse Cottage is a C17 building, originally one roof span in size. It comprises two properties, Nos 3 and 5, situated on the west side of High Street, West Tarring. Number 3 is constructed of cobbles, with the ground floor cemented and cement surrounds to the first-floor windows, the latter having been enlarged. Number 5 is built of flints with red brick dressings. The ground floor of No 5 has been converted into a shed or garage. The roof is a combination of Horsham stone slates in the lower portion and red tiles in the upper portion. The building forms a group with The George and Dragon Public House and Nos 3 to 19 (odd), including No 13a (Chippers).
