Description
Pooks Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage that was originally a farmhouse, dating back to the early 16th century. It features a timber-framed structure with two bays, which was refronted in the 19th century. The cottage is located between a Victorian house and a post-war property, neither of which holds special interest. The ground floor is constructed of red brick, while the first floor is tile hung, with a modillioned band separating the two levels. The roof is tiled and has an end chimney stack. The building is two storeys high and has two windows featuring three-light 19th-century casements. To the left side, there is a simple 20th-century doorcase with a plank door. Inside, the cottage includes a moulded beam and a large bressummer over the inglenook fireplaces, and the roof has two crownposts.
