Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a Grade II listed cottage that dates back to the early 17th century, with extensions added in the early 19th century. The building features a timber frame, with some exposed brick nogging on the upper rear part, while the front upper section is tile-hung and the rest is encased in brick laid in Flemish bond. It has an old plain tile roof and consists of three bays, with an additional 19th-century bay added to the end. The cottage is one and a half storeys high and includes an open gabled porch supported by old reused posts, featuring a 19th-century Gothic door. The windows consist of two above four, with two and three-light cast-iron casements set under cambered arches and lattice glazing. The upper casements are positioned on the wall plate in gabled dormers that have simple bargeboards. The central brick chimney stack is a prominent feature of the cottage. Inside, the framing is visible along with a massive chimney breast.
