Description

Byways is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with 20th-century restoration and outshots. It features a timber frame with exposed brick nogging, and some parts are encased in English bond. The outshots are weatherboarded, and the cottage has a thatched roof. It consists of two bays with outshots at each end and has one storey plus an attic. The entrance is through a half-glazed lobby located in one of the outshots. The windows have an irregular arrangement of casements, and the roof is half-hipped, sweeping down above one of the outshots.
