Description

Oakapple Cottage is a Grade II listed building located on High Street in Chiddingfold. Originally a larger house, it dates back to the 16th century and features a timber frame with brick infill and a plain tile roof, which has a gablet at the right end and a tile-hung gable end stack on the left. The cottage is two storeys high with two bays, although it is truncated at the left end, and has a single storey outshot to the right. There are two 3-light leaded casement windows on each floor. To the left, there is a brick and half-timbered porch that features a 20th-century ribbed door. At the rear, there are 20th-century brick and tile-hung wings. Inside, the cottage has a deep brick fireplace.
