Description

Rye Street Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th century. It has a timber frame that is sheathed in 19th-century rendered brick, with tile hanging above. The roof is hipped and covered with plain tiles, featuring a gablet on the right side and an end stack on the left. The building is two storeys high with a symmetrical facade, which includes two 19th-century casement windows on the first floor. There is a central 20th-century rendered porch that has a tile-hung gable and a plank door. Single-storey outshots extend from both ends of the cottage. Inside, there is a deep brick fireplace with a wood lintel.
