Description

Rye Cottage is a 16th-century cottage located on Pockford Road in Chiddingfold. The building is timber-framed with whitewashed brick and rendered infill, and has a plain tile hipped roof with weatherboarded ends. An inserted brick chimney stack is centrally positioned. The cottage has two storeys and three bays, featuring scattered 19th-century casement windows. A plank door provides access to a lobby entrance at the rear, with a further entrance on the right-hand side. Inside, a deep brick fireplace is a notable feature.
