Description
Glen Cottage is a 17th-century timber-framed building located on Brighton Road. It is two stories tall and approximately square in shape, featuring a tiled hipped roof and situated in a secluded area. The south front is tile-hung, while the other sides are mostly weatherboarded on the upper storey or faced with brick. There are large, tall external chimneys on the east and west sides, with the east chimney having one offset and the west chimney having two. The north side has two nearly symmetrical casement windows on each floor, with additional small casements found elsewhere. A hipped bow extension on the ground floor to the south, likely from the early 19th century, includes French and sash windows. The east side features a light, bracketed doorcase, probably from the late 18th century, along with a modern open-timber gabled porch. There is also a two-story modern extension to the west.
