Description
Little Pennys is a 17th-century timber-framed house located on High Wych Road. The exterior features plastered walls with a weatherboarded upper half on the west gable. The ground floor walls have been renewed in colourwashed brick during the 18th century, and the 19th-century brick front is rendered and colourwashed. The house has a steep old red tile gabled roof. It has a three-room layout with the entrance opposite a large central chimney situated between the western rooms. There is an external gable chimney on the east side and a two-storey rear wing at the northeast, which is also timber-framed and plastered, featuring an old tile roof and an internal gable chimney. Additionally, there is a lower two-storey 19th-century extension with a slate roof located at the angle between the house and the wing. The building has two storeys and attics, with three 19th-century, three-light recessed sash windows that have a pane configuration of 1/1:2/2:1/1. The entrance includes a four-panel door with the top two panels glazed. The rear features two and three-light leaded casements, along with 19th-century sashes and casements in the rear wings. Attached to the northeast corner of the rear wing is a former granary from the 17th or 18th century, which is now used for domestic purposes. This structure is also timber-framed, plastered, and has a steep old red tiled gabled roof, with simple modern wood casements. A small lean-to porch with a plastered finish and a red tile roof is situated in the angle of the building.
