Description
The Lodge is a Grade II listed building dating from around 1840. It is a red brick, single-storey former gate lodge to Pishiobury. In sale particulars from 1848, it was described as "The handsome Elizabethan Lodge... recently built... contains four comfortable rooms." The building features scalloped red tile roofs with shaped gables, and white painted stone moulded copings, finials, windows, and label drip moulds. It is aligned parallel to the drive, with a central rear wing of the same height and an elaborate gabled porch at the front, which is central to two windows. The heavy double doors have a pointed head and cusped spandrels within the frame. The porch is topped with a shaped gable that includes a finial and a recessed armorial panel. There is also a small projecting bay on the gable facing the high road to the west. The Lodge is adorned with three tall moulded terra cotta chimneys, contributing to its picturesque appearance.
