Description
Rowneybury Cottage, located on Harlow Road opposite Redricks Lane, dates from the late 16th to early 17th century. It is a baffle entry house with three rooms arranged in a line. The structure features a timber frame with a rendered brick base, weatherboarding on the ground floor, and renewed pargetting on the first floor. The steep roof is covered with old red tiles and is half-hipped. A large central chimney has multiple engaged diagonal shafts. The original four-light unglazed window above the door has diagonally set square mullions, while there are modern three-light wood casements. The porch is also modern.
