Description

The ha-ha around the mansion at Pishiobury Park is a Grade II listed structure, likely designed in the late 18th century, around 1782-1783, by Lancelot (Capability) Brown. It consists of a high-quality red brick wall with regular coursing, built below ground level as a vertical revetment on the inner side of a ditch. This design prevents cattle from entering the garden while remaining unobtrusive in views from the house. The wall features 12 courses of brickwork topped with coping bricks that are flush with the lawn. The best-preserved section is located to the northwest of the mansion, following an irregular serpentine line from the drive to the lake. This structure is a characteristic feature of landscape gardens.
