Description

The dairy at the east end of the upper courtyard in Pishiobury Park dates from the 18th century. It is a tall, single-storey square building constructed of light red brick with a steep pyramid slate roof. The walls are 24 inches thick and feature fine red brick laid in Flemish bond, with gauged arches, dentilled eaves, and a tall terra cotta chimney shaft located in the middle of the south wall. The chimney has a diaper pattern on its circular shaft, an octagonal base, and cap. Atop the roof is a small octagonal wooden lantern that is glazed only on the cardinal faces and has a wooden cornice.

Inside, the building has a flat coved ceiling with a central oculus and decorative features in the upper parts of the walls. The north wall contains three three-centred arches, while the east wall has three segmental-headed windows, two of which are likely modern. There is also a chimney on the south wall. The interior features a bold round-nosed impost moulding to the cove. The dairy is currently used as a shower room.
