Description

Frith Cottage is a 17th-century house located in Flaunden. It is timber-framed with red brick infill and has a steep roof covered in old red tiles. A low brick and tile extension is present on the north side. The house is small, with two bays and a 1½-storey design, and it faces west, set back from the road. An external gable chimney is visible at the south end, and there are signs of a similar chimney at the north end. The front of the house features two three-light leaded casement windows and two dormer windows built into the eaves. Flint decoration in the form of a diamond is set into the middle of the front elevation. The north end exhibits exposed timber framing and a clasped-purlin roof with a collar truss. A long, single-storey extension is attached to the north end, extending westward and featuring an external chimney on the north side.
