Description
Nos 17 and 19 Orchard Street are a pair of late 18th-century houses. They feature a double hipped red tiled roof, with a tall brick chimney at the south end and a squarer chimney at the north end. The buildings are two storeys high with a basement and have a small brick cornice with dentils at the eaves. Constructed of red brick, each house has two sash windows with flush boxes and intact glazing bars. The upper windows have flat arches, while the lower windows are topped with segmental arches. The doorways are accessed by five steps with a handrail and have flat arches, moulded architraves, entablatures, and rectangular pediments. Each doorway contains a six-panel moulded door with a rectangular fanlight above.
