Description
No 28 on West Street is a mid-19th century building with a lower frontage and much lower roofline compared to No 27. It features a slate gabled roof and stands two storeys tall, with a stuccoed exterior. A moulded bracketed cornice runs before the parapet. The façade includes three round-headed windows with moulded architraves and impost moulding, although the glazing is modern. There is a flight of five steps with an iron handrail leading to the doorway, which has six fielded panels and a rectangular fanlight above. Additionally, there is a modern reproduction style bow window with glazing bars on the east side. This building is part of a group that includes the Church of St Peter, Nos 21 to 25 (consecutive), The John Edes House, and Nos 27 to 33 (consecutive).
