Description
Nos 147 and 149 Westgate are a pair of late 18th century or early 19th century buildings, each three stories high with six windows. They are constructed of red brick and feature a stone fluted frieze and a moulded and dentilled cornice beneath a fairly low pitched hipped roof covered in Welsh slates. The buildings have gauged flat brick arches with fluted triple keystones and stone cills for the sash windows, which include glazing bars. There are stone cill bands on the lower floors. The entrance features six-panel doors with oblong fanlights, set within narrow architraves. The doorcases are adorned with narrow pilasters and enriched entablatures.
