Description

159 Westgate is an 18th-century building that stands three stories tall and features seven windows. It is constructed of painted brick and has a second-floor band. The roof is hipped, made of stone slates, and has an off-centre ridge stack. The first floor has flat gauged brick arches and stone cills for replaced sash windows, which are set in flush wood architraves, while modern casements are located above. The ground floor has been altered, with the central bay rebuilt in a different brick and flanking shop windows added. This building was formerly the residence of Jeremiah Naylor, a notable clothier.
