Description

Nos 7 and 8 Portmill Lane are a pair of 18th-century houses. They feature red brick fronts, with grey and plum coloured brickwork on the left side elevation. The houses have old tiled roofs and include four Yorkshire casement box dormers. They are two storeys high with attics and have six flush sash windows in moulded frames, complete with glazing bars, set under flat arches. The ground floor has flush panelled shutters. Each house has two pedimented doorways with six-panel doors, where four panels are fielded and two are flush. The doorways are topped with oblong fanlights, one of which has ornamental glazing bars, and are surrounded by Doric pilasters, entablatures, and dentil pediments.
