Description
21A Bancroft is a late 18th-century house that stands three storeys tall and is constructed of deep red brick. It features moulded brick strings above both the lower storeys and a moulded brick cornice beneath a plain parapet that conceals the roof. The façade has five windows set in plain reveals. A slightly projecting central bay includes a wooden porch, designed in a classical style with semi-engaged columns supporting an entablature decorated with alternating rosettes and triglyphs. The door, which has four fielded panels in its upper half, is set within a round-headed recess that includes an archivolt and a fielded panelled reveal. Nos 21 to 28, in sequence, form a group.
