Description

The wall to the garden of No 14 Maltravers Street dates from around 1841, coinciding with the creation of New Cut and the importation of most of the Purbeck stone used for its construction. The wall runs from the east side of No 14 Maltravers Street, turning north alongside New Cut, and then extends west along the south side of London Road, reaching the east end of Tower House. It is built from Purbeck stone, featuring Pulborough stone dressings and coping.
