Description
10 Maltravers Street is an early or mid 18th century building constructed of red brick with grey headers in Flemish bond. It features a hipped tile roof with a catslide on the north side and has rendered chimneys. The west gable is tile-hung. The building stands two storeys tall with attics and has a plain string course of grey headers above the ground floor.
On the first floor, there are three double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor has two segment-headed windows. A 19th century four-panelled door, set in a segment-headed frame, is accessed by six brick steps with ashlar treads. There is a cellar door located beneath the east ground floor window, and a casement window with glazing bars is present in the east gable end.
Nos 2 to 10 (even) form a group with Nos 69 and 71 High Street, as well as the raised pavements on the north side of Maltravers Street.
