Description
West Farmhouse is a Grade II listed building located on Tongham Road. The farmhouse features an east-west timber-framed wing on its southern side, dating from the 16th to 17th century or possibly earlier. It has a very steeply pitched old tile half-hipped roof that slopes low on either side. The structure is one storey with an attic and is clad in brick, with a brick dentil cornice on the northern half-hipped gabled end. The north gable end includes two modern windows, a door, and an attic window, while the north-facing wall has a modern opening and a wide modern dormer.
Attached to the northern side of this range is a two-storey addition, likely built between the late 18th century and mid-19th century, creating two parallel ranges. This addition has a hipped tile roof and is clad in brick on the north and west-facing walls, with the east-facing wall made of clunch and modern tile-hung gable ends. The first floor features three light modern windows with small panes, while the ground floor has a door and a window. A red brick lacing course is also present.
