Description
Whitehall Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse that consists of three sections, two dating from the 17th century and one from 1774. The building is constructed from whitewashed clunch, carstone, and flint, with brick dressings. The east wing is made of whitewashed brick, while the rear features coursed carstone with brick dressings. The roofs are covered with red pantiles.
The farmhouse has a T-shaped plan with a central gable and stands two storeys high. The earlier section at the north-west has two ground floor and two first floor windows, with a gable end that includes blocked windows and one open brick-dressed window with a later hood mould. The central gable wing has two ground floor windows, two first floor windows, and one attic window, along with kneelers and parapets, and a stack at the north end. This section features a date of 1670 on the ground floor cross beam. The northern build, dated 1774 on the east gable, has three ground floor and three first floor windows. Throughout the 20th century, metal frame casements have been inserted into openings that were presumably widened from 18th century sash windows.
