Description
Laurels Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse consisting of a single range divided into two sections, with the right section dating from the 16th century and the left section likely from the late 17th century. The building is primarily timber framed and cement-rendered, with some plasterwork visible at the rear, and features a red brick gable end on the left side. It has a thatched roof and is 1 and a half storeys tall. The facade includes three windows, which are 18th-century three-light mullion and transom casements, along with two boarded doors. There are three gabled dormers and an internal stack located in the right-hand range. The left gable end showcases a well-preserved parapet with short returns on both the facade and the rear, featuring two brick bands (the lower band continues onto the returns), paired windows at the first floor level, and an integral stack. The ground floor rooms of the earlier section display exposed joisting, although much of the timber frame is hidden. The farmhouse also includes newel stairs.
