Description

The Mill House is a house that dates back to the 15th century, with extensions from the 17th and 19th centuries, and was restored in the 20th century. It features a timber frame that is clad in red and blue brick at the front, with weatherboarding on the left return front, and roughcast and weatherboarding on the rear extensions. The roofs are plain tiled, hipped with a gablet on the right side. The house has an L-shaped plan, with the main range positioned parallel to the rear.

It stands two storeys high with attics in the front range, which has three diamond-pane gabled dormers. There are large square stacks that are corbelled, located to the right of centre, left of centre, and at the rear. The first floor has four leaded casement windows, with one window below to the left of centre. The ground floor features two angle bays under pentice roofs, positioned to the left of centre and at the right end. There is a pentice catslide extension at the left end, and the door is located to the right of centre within a pentice roofed porch.

On the left return front, which faces the lane, there are two rows of leaded casements on the first floor beneath drip boards on the gable to the right, and two windows on the ground floor. A single storey screen wall with a gabled porch hood on braces leads down to the door. At the rear, there is a 20th-century parallel range with a dormered link range to the front.
