Description
Markstone Moss is a cottage dating from the 17th century, which was remodeled in the 20th century. It has a timber-framed core that is clad in whitewashed brick and rubblestone, topped with a hipped plain tiled roof. The building is single storey with attics, featuring front gabled dormers that extend through the eaves. There is a central stack, and on the ground floor, to the left, there is a 6-light mullioned and transomed leaded window, while to the right are two 8-light mullioned and transomed windows. To the left of the center, there are casement doors, and to the right of the center, there is a 20th-century door situated in a gabled porch supported by chamfered pillars. Additionally, there is a hipped single storey 20th-century extension to the right. Inside, some of the framing is exposed, particularly in the ceilings.
