Description

Tudor Cottage is a house that dates back to the 16th century, with extensions added in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries at the right end and rear. The left side features timber framing, which is exposed at the rear and filled with brown brick. The front left is clad in red and blue brick, while the right side has galleted sandstone with brick dressings. The roofs are plain tiled, hipped on the left with an oversailing gable on the right. The structure has a T-shaped range on the left, with a 20th-century T-shaped range set back to the right. The house stands two storeys high on a plinth, with a tall ridge stack at the centre of the left range and additional stacks at the rear of the right extension.

The front of the house features 20th-century leaded casement windows with diamond panes, including three casements on the first floor and four windows along with one window in a penticed roof extension on the ground floor to the left. The right extension has a gable at the end. There is an arched attic window in the gable, with large mullioned and transomed windows on both the first and ground floors below. An arched studded door is located at the junction of the two ranges.

At the rear, there is a wing that extends at right angles to the right of centre, along with another door to the right. Inside, considerable amounts of framing are visible in the old range.
